The meeting of the Augusta Historical Society Inc. will be held on Thursday 17th September at 6.30pm in the Society Room , Blackwood Avenue Augusta. The meeting will be preceded by the Annual General Meeting when the committee for 20/21 will be elected.

Our special Guest Speaker for the evening will be the well known author and researcher Bernice Barry. Her topic will be William Longmate, his story, his background and his fate.

Longmate was an employee of James Woodward Turner and his story will be another facet of the past history of the settlement of Augusta.

All members and interested public are invited to attend. We will be socially distancing and practising Covid protocol and there will be no coffee or tea following the meeting.
